Sports injuries






Sports injuries result from acute trauma or repetitive stress associated with athletic activities. Sports injuries can affect bones, soft tissue (ligaments, muscles, tendons) or other organs.

•Acute injuries (traumatic)
-Is typically the result of single event
-Result in the immediate onset of pain
-Associate with an obvious deformity with impaired function
-Less than 72 hours


•Chronic/ Sub-acute injuries (overuse)
-Result from repetitive microtraumato bone, ligament and musculotendinousunits
-More than 72 hours
